ICM 1/350 Scale König WWI German Battleship Model Kit FEATURES: Accurate copy of the prototype Two assembly variants - full hull and waterline Decal sheet is included Two marking options available: Battleship “König”, 1918 Battleship “König”, 1914   SPECIFICATIONS: Scale: 1/350 Length: 503mm Width: 84mm Number of parts: 507   HISTORY: SMS König was the lead ship of the four König-class dreadnought battleships built for the Imperial German Navy. Launched in 1913 and commissioned shortly after the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, she was armed with ten 30.5cm guns and became an important part of Germany's High Seas Fleet. König saw extensive service during WWI and famously led the German battle line at the Battle of Jutland in 1916, where she was heavily engaged and suffered numerous shell hits. She later participated in Operation Albion in 1917, fighting Russian naval forces in the Baltic. Following Germany's defeat, König was interned with much of the High Seas Fleet at Scapa Flow. On 21 June 1919, she was deliberately scuttled with the rest of the German fleet to prevent the ships from falling into Allied hands. Her wreck remains at Scapa Flow today.   Paints and glue are required to complete this model kit. Not included. Available separately.
