Bouchard Pere & Fils Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru Blanc 2022

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in the heart of the Cote d'Or, the Bouchard Père et Fils winery has nearly 3 centuries of history and has been part of the Henriot Champagne house for almost 30 years. Their excellent wines are produced from vineyards located in some of the most prestigious appellations of the region and aged in the beautiful underground cellars of the Château de Beaune, a former royal fortress that the company has occupied since 1820. This extraordinary white wine is made from hand-picked Chardonnay grapes from 4 different parcels, located on limestone, clay, and marl soils. The wine is vinified separately per parcel, to ensure the full expression of each terroir, and the finished wine rests for approximately 10 months in French oak (approximately 15% new), and for 3-4 months in stainless steel vats. Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru Blanc reveals a pale gold color with light greenish hues. Its aromatic profile is ripe and broad with notes of white fruit, banana, lime blossom, candied citrus, and some hints of brioche and baking spices. On the palate, it is rich and concentrated with a pleasant fresh vein and a long finish that recalls mineral notes. Excellent with roast chicken and all-white meats.
