Sieur d'Arques Toques et Clochers Limoux Chardonnay Haute Vallee 2024

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in Limoux, Les Caves de Sieur d'Arques was founded in 1946 and remains one of the leading cooperatives in the Languedoc-Roussillon region today. It is particularly renowned for its Crémant de Limoux but also produces a range of excellent still white wines and Blanquette. The multi-award-winning Toques et Clochers Limoux is produced exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Haute-Vallée terroir. The vineyards, situated at an altitude of over 300 meters in the southern part of the appellation, benefit from the protection of the Pyrenees and the influence of the Atlantic Ocean. These conditions, combined with the warm Mediterranean sun and significant day-night temperature fluctuations, favor slow grape ripening. After the harvest, vinification takes place in barrels, where the finished wine subsequently rests until bottling. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant straw-yellow color with greenish hues. The nose offers fragrant notes of citrus and white fruit, accompanied by subtle spicy and floral touches. On the palate, it is fresh, taut, and sleek, featuring refreshing acidity and a well-defined mineral streak. It is lively and elegant, with a long, thirst-quenching finish. Try it with pan-seared scallops or gratinéed king prawns.
