Rugged, versatile and capable of operating in a wide variety of roles, it served in every major theatre of the conflict. The B-25B became particularly famous for the Doolittle Raid of 18 April 1942. Just months after the attack on Pearl Harbour, sixteen B-25B bombers were launched from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet to strike targets in and around Tokyo. Although the raid caused relatively limited physical damage, it provided an important boost to American morale and demonstrated that the Japanese home islands could be attacked. One of the marking options included in this kit represents B-25B 40-2249 “Hari Kari-er” of the 89th Bombardment Squadron, which took part in the Doolittle Raid.   Paints and glue are required to complete this model kit.
