Uberti Franciacorta Rose Francesco I

Cellar for up to 5 years. Serve chilled. The Uberti family began their Franciacorta project in 1980, but their ancestors have been growing grapes here in Erbusco since 1793. The current owners, G. Augustine Uberti and his wife Eleanor, work alongside their two daughters, Silvia and Francesca, to produce some of the region’s most exciting Franciacorta sparkling wines. Although they began with just 9 hectares they now work with a diverse range of plots which they own as well as partner growers in the region. This stunning rosé is crafted from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes planted on mineral rich soils which help give the wine a distinctive elegance and grace. The Pinot Noir grapes are macerated on the skins for a short time to give the distinctive pale pink hue and the secondary fermentation then takes place in the bottle. The young wine is then matured on the lees for 30 months in the bottle to add complexity and depth. On the nose there are intense notes of bright red fruit like cherries and raspberries while the first sip reveals a mouthwatering freshness, smooth texture and clean finish. This is a great wine to serve as an aperitif or with sushi, seafood and salmon dishes.
