Drink It now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Founded in the late 90s, Pago de los Capellanes is one of the most prestigious wineries in Spain. Located in Pedrosa de Duero, in one of the best areas of the Ribera del Duero denomination, the company produces excellent quality wines with an approach that mixes modern technologies and traditional spirit with the utmost respect for the terroir. The Tempranillo grapes for this wine are selected and harvested by hand from the 6-hectare El Nogal vineyard planted on limestone-clay soils. Here the vines can benefit from a strong temperature gap between day an night that favors the ripening of the grapes and guarantees a marked acidity in the wines. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and with indigenous yeasts, and the finished wine ages for 32 months in new French oak barrels. Pago de los Capellanes El Nogal is an elegant wine that shows a clear and brilliant color with ruby red tones. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe red fruit, floral and spicy notes, and hints of leather and cocoa. On the palate, it is well structured and full-bodied, complex, and balanced. It has good acidity and velvety tannins. The finish is long and fruity. It is the ideal wine to pair with roast meat and mature cheeses.
